NekoRay development continues under the name Throne. The interface feels familiar, but carrying over an old profile folder wholesale often brings broken paths and outdated core settings along with it. A clean rebuild takes about fifteen minutes.

Before you switch

Export the things you'll need: subscription URLs, any manually added servers (as share links), and your custom routing rules. Take screenshots of your routing and DNS pages for reference.

Fresh install

Install Throne into a new folder rather than over NekoRay. Pick the core it recommends; the older core options may be removed or renamed.

Re-add subscriptions

Add each subscription as a group, update it, and run a latency test. If nodes appear but none connect, check the system time and whether your old setup relied on a specific core.

Rebuild routing

Recreate rules from your notes instead of importing old JSON. Start with a simple domestic-direct, everything-else-proxy setup, confirm it works, then add exceptions.

Then retire NekoRay

Only after a day of normal use, uninstall the old app and remove its autostart entry so the two don't fight over the system proxy.
